UK packaging EPR: identify your business role
Packing, importing and selling can involve different roles. Check your activities before assessing obligations.
UK guidance asks businesses to check whether they are a producer of packaging. Filling packaging, importing packaged goods and selling filled packaging can be relevant activities. Being involved in an activity does not by itself settle every obligation: the official criteria also need to be checked. Do not assume every business selling a packaged product has identical registration and reporting duties.
